Declaring your major

Your degree, your plan: Find out why declaring your major is key, when to do it, and the steps to make it happen.

Why declare?

Declaring your major is vital for many programs at 海角社区.* You must declare your major to be able to register in specific courses, so do not delay declaring your major until registration. See When to declare to get the timing right.

Declaring your major helps you to:
  • Stay in the loop: Your department will know you鈥檙e in their program and can send you updates about events, opportunities, and more.
  • Graduate on time: The Registrar鈥檚 Office uses your declared major to check if you鈥檝e met all your degree requirements.
  • Plan smarter: Your degree audit will be accurate, helping you choose the right courses and stay on track.
