º£½ÇÉçÇøâ€™s Fountain School's adaptation of Macbeth reimagines Shakespeare's classic tragedy in a dustbowl circus tent. The project will combine the original text with devised theatre elements, challenging our acting students to find their own unique version of the classic story.Ìý

Directed by Matthew Thomas Walker, The Fountain School of Performing Arts’ Macbeth continues our 2025-2026 season. It features a talented ensemble of 3th year acting program students including Katie Alexander, Tjása Allen, Ava Antle, Aidan Cochrane, Safiya Doyle, Liel Kiznerman, Daniella Kozera, Grace Magro, River Moser, Brady Poirer, Sarah Rees, Alex Robichaud, Chloe Rockwell-MacLeod.
In addition to Walker, the creative team includes Assistant Directors Aiden Bradshaw and Fiona Forsythe, Set Designer Sean Mulcahy, Costume Designer Catherine MacCaughan, Lighting Designer Grace Watson, Assistant Set Designer Phoenix Bradley, and Sound Designer Dylan Hay.
The production is further supported by the students in the Stage Design and Technical Theatre and Costume Studies programs, including stage manager Naomi Dansie and assistant stage manager Zach Westbrook.
Please be advised this adaptation will include the following elements which may be disturbing to some: imagery of murder, violence and suicide (performed in silhouette), graphic language related to murder, violence, suicide, use of prop weapons (knives, gun, slingshot), symbols and sounds of war (soldier’s uniform), lingering impacts of war, simulated c-section and scenes of intimacy.ÌýAudience members should also note that there is only one exit from the performance space, which is the same door used for entry.
This production is approximately 75 min without intermission, andÌý includes haze, flashing lights, loud sounds (including those related to war) as well as live music/drumming. Actors will enter from various points around the audience.
